The Longhouse
Covered in a stylized Ever Growing Tree Wampum Belt design and surrounded by the people locking arms around it, "The Longhouse" is a reminder to work together to build communities based on the Good Mind and the Great Path -or Great Law of Peace. Maintaining Peace is an ongoing responsibility of the people. Locking arms together is inspired by our traditional teachings that among our responsibilities we are to work together to hold up the Great Tree of Peace - the symbol of the Great Law. Locked arms symbolizes that if the tree was to fall, the Chiefs would be there to hold it up.
This box is handmade from walnut and birch - both species indigenous to Turtle Island. The removable lid allows you full access to the inside for your keepsakes. The construction and attention to detail is exquisite. The Two Row Wampum Belt is a foundational wampum belt among the Haudenosaunee. The belt embodies a philosophy that not only describes the relationship we desire with the Colonists, but also the relationship we have with all living things. It is one of the first agreements made with the Europeans when they arrived on our shores. 1n 1613, the Haudenosaunee created this belt to describe the relationship we wished to establish with the Dutch. We were to stay in our canoe and they were to stay in the ships - each parallel to one another and equal. We did not desire a subservient relationship. It is that those who choose to live with one foot in the canoe and one foot in the ship are doomed to fall into the water. It is our responsibilities to ensure we follow the path laid out for us by creation.

Sweetgrass is a cherished and sacred plant among many Indigenous Nations. Sweetgrass usually grows among other grasses or shrubs. It has a sweet, long-lasting aroma that is even stronger when the grass has been harvested and dried. Many crafters use Sweetgrass to accent baskets or beadwork. We are taught this grass represents Mother Earth's hair. The soft fragrance reminds us of the need to be kind and loving to each other... Keeping the Good Mind.

Our centers are made from three (3) layers of Birch which makes them dimensionally stable and durable. They come in at 1/8" thick and are perfect for beadworking. About Our Plaques
Each of our wooden plaques are designed according to your needs. We include an engraved version of your logo, wording, and any other imagery you'd like. We can also add a raised version of your logo (in most cases, depending on the complexity of your logo) for an additional fee.
Send us your logo in vector format. There may be an additional fee if we have to vectorize your or set it up for engraving logo. Also, send us your wording and any other design details you require. We will produce a Proof and send it to you for your approval prior to going to Production.

Murisa is an exceptional graphic artist. We wanted to make some new clan designs with an artistic feel to them. This is what she came up with. Every clan is hand torched (Robert's signature touch) for contrast and then overlaid onto an unfinished piece of Baltic birch. Available in all 9 clans of the Haudenosaunee. Our ornaments are strung with Hemp String. Hemp is one of the traditional materials used by the Skarù:réʔ (Tuscarora) People.

According to our Creation Story, Sky Woman fell down from Sky World and landed on a Turtle's back. Earth was covered with water. Various animals tried to swim to the bottom of the ocean to bring back dirt to create land. Muskrat succeeded in gathering dirt, which was placed on the back of a turtle. Once the dirt was placed on the Turtle's back, it grew into North America. Pendant is made from carved bone on a 28" faux leather cord. Size may vary slightly since it is made from bone.

Usually dated to 1613, The Two Row Wampum belt (pictured on the button) is the first recorded agreement between Europeans and the Indigenous Haudenosaunee People of Turtle Island.
The agreement outlines a mutual, three-part commitment to friendship, peace between peoples, and living in parallel forever (as long as the grass is green, as long as the rivers flow downhill and as long as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west). Throughout the years, the Haudenosaunee have sought to honor this mutual vision and have increasingly emphasized that ecological stewardship is a fundamental prerequisite for this continuing friendship.

These earrings are made from cherry wood with an engraved SkyDome design. Our creation story tells how SkyWoman fell from SkyWorld and landed on a turtle's back. This SkyDome design represents the SkyWorld above with Turtle Island (now known as North America) below.

NOTE: If you do not have a vector formated file, upload what you do have. If we can easily convert it to vector, there will be no additional charge. However if we have trouble converting the file or if we have to re-draw it completely, there will be an addtional charge, depending on the level of difficulty we have working with your file.
