Description
One of our most popular pieces! This wooden feather depicts the Haudenosaunee Tree of Peace (designed by artist John Fadden) with a Hiawatha Belt Overlay. The Tree of Peace symbolizes the unity and peace the Peacemaker brought to the Haudenosaunee People. The four (4) roots extend in four directions symbolizing the peace is meant to extend to the North, South, East, and West. The original Tree of Peace was a White Pine Tree. White Pine needles are bundles in sets of five (5) which symbolizes the original five (5) Nations who formed the Confederacy (Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, and Mohawks. The Tuscarora joined the Confederacy in 1722 and today the Confederacy is often referred to by the English Title "Six Nations.").
This piece can also be custom engraved with a Date or Name. A great idea if you're having an event or banquet. Contact us for more information.
